The Calm Before the Industry Pitch

We are down to just a few hours now until the industry panel and it is stressful to say the least for all of us in the cohort. Tonight a bunch of the producers set up the room for our presentations and where the professionals were going to sit. We figured that it is best done the night before so any craziness that might occur with our builds and such during the next day would be a bit more manageable. I hope we are right. As for team Hack'n Hide, we just finished working on our pitch as a team. Yes, I know it's 11:45 PM. Read ON!
Because this game is a big and relatively new experience - we all wanted to pull out all of the stops for the pitch. We made an animatic which sets up the theme for the game quite nicely and I worked with the team on  pacing out objectives for the live demo that Zac and I are going to play. Yep, live gameplay during the pitch. We're being THAT ballsy! and I love it.

Oddly enough, the one major problem that the team is facing with this presentation is getting PowerPoint to do its job of playing the slideshow. For some reason, when we get about half-way into the pitch the program completely crashes. We thought it was because of the video formats but they work fine until we hook it up to the projector - then it crashes after 5 minutes. It's super weird. I have some thoughts on how to possibly fix the situation - mainly play it in Keynote instead of PowerPoint. Hopefully that works!

I've been practicing the actual pitch itself for 2 days now. I think I have everything memorized, I just keep stumbling over my words sometimes. Nothing new for me, really. I just need to get into the zone when the presentation is about to begin.

Speaking of which, I am going to go home now and sleep. Big day tomorrow!
