Whew! It has been quite a week working on the thesis game. We made a lot of headway with the project and I think we are ready to go into full-on engineering phase, building the prototype. Oh and there is also concept art as well! Want to see it? Read on!
Over the past few days, the team has been working together on finalizing the design of the game in order to build the fundamental pieces of it. Chris also surprised the group by putting together a mockup of what the Hacker's UI looks like.
Check it out!
He and I also worked on the layout for the prototype level. We wanted a big enough area that it could be a playground for each player-character's mechanics. That way, when we playtest with the team and with our classmates, we can see emergent situations which may break our game. But, we still need to integrate some of the individual features that have been created in order to see the whole thing work together.
I also worked on setting the guard's patrol paths. Vaibhav did an excellent job implementing them into the game world.
This weekend, the team is going to be working hard to assemble most of those features together for a playable build so we can hold a public playtest on Tuesday.
Well, back to work!
